Description

Some pieces of jewellery feel familiar the moment you put them on — like you've worn them before, in another summer, another version of yourself. That's the feeling we kept coming back to while we were designing this one. A real, freshwater Keshi baroque pearl bracelet that looks like it's already lived a life or two before it found you.

Each pearl is a genuine cultured Keshi baroque pearl, hand-picked between 6 and 8mm, with that proper old-world lustre you usually only see on pieces your grandmother kept in a velvet box. No two pearls are quite the same shape — some are softly round, some lean teardrop, a few are gently lopsided in the loveliest way. That's what makes a Keshi pearl a Keshi pearl. They're the rare, nucleus-free freshwater pearls that form entirely from nacre, which is why the surface has that deep, almost milky glow rather than the flat plasticky shine of a costume pearl bracelet.

We've strung them on a strong, knot-secured cord and broken up the bigger baroque pearls with tiny seed pearls in between, so the whole bracelet drapes beautifully across the wrist instead of sitting stiff. It comes in at roughly 17cm long, which is the sweet spot for most women's wrists — close enough to feel intentional, with just enough movement to catch the light when you're typing, reaching for your coffee, or doing absolutely nothing at all. The clasp is a polished gold-plated round closure, low-profile and easy to do up one-handed once you've got the hang of it (a little bit of fiddling at first, but you'll get there — promise).

Design-wise, this one sits firmly in our "quiet luxury" corner. It's the kind of dainty pearl bracelet that works just as hard with a linen tee and denim as it does with a slip dress at a wedding. Stack it with a chunky gold chain bracelet for a bit of contrast, layer it next to a tennis bracelet for something more dressed-up, or wear it completely on its own and let it be the whole outfit. We've seen customers buy this as a bridesmaid bracelet, a 'something old, something new' wedding pearl bracelet, a 21st birthday gift, a 'just because Tuesday' purchase, and a self-bought engagement-treat — it really does suit all of it.

The design idea behind it goes back to the brand name. Deja vu — that slightly uncanny feeling of recognising something you've never actually seen before. Real baroque pearls have that effect on people. Hold one in your palm and it feels old, even when it isn't. The little dimples and ridges look like a coastline mapped from above. So instead of trying to design something brand new and shouty, we leaned the opposite way: pearls in their most honest form, a warm gold-toned clasp, nothing else getting in the way. A bracelet that feels like a memory you can wear.

A small, honest note on the metal: the clasp is solid copper with a thick gold plating, which gives it the warmth and weight of fine gold without the fine-gold price tag. Each bracelet is sent out in a Deja vu Jewellery gift box, ready to give (or, let's be real, keep).

We only get a small batch of these in at a time — Keshi pearls aren't mass-produced like regular round freshwater pearls, so when a run sells out, the next batch genuinely looks a little different. If this is the version you love, grab it now rather than risking the restock. It's the kind of bracelet you'll reach for three times a week, photograph constantly, and have other women asking about at brunch. The good kind of problem.

CARE INSTRUCTION

This collection is crafted from waterproof 18k Gold PVD Stainless Steel, designed to be lived in. This means you can confidently wear them in the shower, the ocean, and at the gym without worrying about tarnishing or your skin turning green. While they are built to be sweat-proof and life-proof, everyday elements like sunscreen, salt water, and perfumes can dull their sparkle over time. To keep them looking their best, simply give them a quick rinse with warm soapy water after a swim to wash away any residue, and try to avoid direct contact with harsh cleaning chemicals. When not in use, a quick buff with a soft cloth will restore that signature high-shine finish.
